    Recent Projects & Initiatives

    1. Healthy High Desert Initiative: The primary goal is to bring more healthy foods and physical/exercise activities to the High Desert area including the cities of Apple Valley, Adelanto, Hesperia, and Victorville. One project involves working with local farmers to bring affordable fresh fruits and vegetables to the High Desert. The current focus of this project is to develop a sustainable strategy for both local farmers as well as for low income residents.

    2. Community of Excellence (CX3) Project: CX3 is a powerful tool that captures and communicates neighborhood-level data to promote healthier communities. This project provides tools for collecting and measuring food quality, availability, and affordability in low-income communities. Armed with these data, health and nutrition advocates around Apple Valley, Adelanto, Hesperia, and Victorville are engaging and inspiring community members and partners to pursue healthy food.CX3 is a project of the Network for a Healthy California (Network) in partnership with local health departments.
